The sustainable investing-movement has gained ground in recent years within the global investment community, with Europe spearheading the effort to standardize, regulate and innovate on the ESG fund products’ front.

Understanding the fast-evolving arena of sustainable investing and fully grasping the opportunities and risks that ESG-focused investors are faced with is challenging. Our role within the Morningstar’s ESG Research team is to provide clarity to investors and help them navigate the complexity of the sustainable fund landscape so that they can choose sustainable funds that best meet their risk- return expectations and align with their sustainable values. In this session we will provide an overview of the sustainable fund landscape in Europe and will more specifically:

  • Examine the inflows, assets and ESG funds available to institutional and retail investors
  • Highlight new thematic trends and fund types
  • Discuss the impact of regulation on European funds
