LuxFLAG is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the ISAE 3000 Type II certification by EY Luxembourg in respect of LuxFLAG’s system of internal controls for label issuance services to Sustainable Finance vehicles for the period 1 July to 31 December 2019. With this, LuxFLAG becomes the first sustainable finance labelling agency in Europe to obtain such an external assurance certification.

EY’s examination was conducted in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements 3000 (revised) (“ISAE 3000”), issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and as adopted for Luxembourg by the “Institut des Réviseurs d’Entreprises”. The ISAE 3000 type II report awarded to LuxFLAG provides assurance that its “Description of Labelling Services Provided by LuxFLAG” (the “Description”) is fairly presented, and the controls were suitably designed and operating effectively to achieve the control objectives stated in the Description for the period reviewed.

Denise Voss, Chairwoman of LuxFLAG, said: “We are very pleased to receive this independent internationally recognized accreditation under ISAE 3000, which reaffirms the robust internal processes, suitability of the design of controls, and operating effectiveness of the defined controls in relation to labels issued by LuxFLAG.”

LuxFLAG is pleased to announce that 26 new funds have been granted a LuxFLAG label bringing the total to 183 investment products (101 ESG, 3 Climate Finance, 11 Environment, 32 Microfinance, 21 Green Bonds, 15 Applicant Fund status) as at the 12th of December.

These products are domiciled in seven jurisdictions viz. Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and are managed in 14 countries.

The number of LuxFLAG labelled investment products grew by 78% since the beginning of the year reflecting the growing importance of highlighting the ESG credentials of fund products and a strong growth in sustainable investing.

Building on the successful events celebrating Luxembourg’s Impact Ecosystem during the two last years, the Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund (LMDF) in partnership with the Ville de Luxembourg (VdL) and the impact investing players and supporters across the Grand Duchy, turned once again the spotlight on where business/finance converge with social/environmental impact.

Sachin Vankalas, General Manager of LuxFLAG, took part in the jury in order to select four projects which were provided the opportunity to pitch at the event.

The LuxFLAG Team were also exhibitors at the event, where they promoted the activities and achievements of LuxFLAG on the 1st of October 2019.
