LuxFLAG to join EIB Benelux Pavilion at COP29 to discuss the role of European financial institutions in advancing sustainable finance
The Luxembourg Finance Labelling Agency (LuxFLAG) is honored to participate in the European Investment Bank (EIB) Benelux Pavilion at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP29, taking place in Baku. As part of its mission to foster sustainable finance and responsible investment practices, LuxFLAG joins a prominent panel alongside the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), titled: “Towards sustainable finance: A perspective from European financial institutions.”
Scheduled for 13th November 2024, at 17:30 CT (CET + 3 hours), the panel will feature leading voices in the field of sustainable finance. Pierre Gramegna, Managing Director of the ESM, and Ambroise Fayolle, Vice President of the EIB, will share insights on the pivotal role European financial institutions play in driving global sustainability efforts. Isabelle Delas, Chief Executive Officer of LuxFLAG, will moderate the session, guiding the conversation on how European financial institutions are shaping the future of sustainable finance, setting standards, and contributing to key climate action goals.
The discussion will explore actionable ways financial institutions can champion sustainability objectives, highlighting innovative investment practices and policy frameworks that support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. The panel will elaborate on how European financial institutions are evolving to meet growing demands for transparency, accountability, and impact in sustainable finance, an area that aligns closely with COP29’s overarching themes of climate action, sustainability, and global partnerships.
