Ioana Popescu is a final year PhD student at the Environmental Research and Innovation Department (ERIN) of Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and at the University of Luxembourg, Doctoral School of Science and Engineering. Her research focus is on sustainable finance, more specifically, developing a tool to measure the life cycle sustainability of investment funds. She is especially focusing on the estimation of carbon footprint of investments and more recently looking into additional environmental and social impacts that can be estimated using life cycle assessment methodology.  She has previously conducted a six-month research project at LIST on green bonds. She has industry experience in ESG research and accounting. Ioana holds a Master’s degree in Financial Risk Management and International Business and a Bachelor’s in Finance and Banking.
