Who we are

LuxFLAG (Luxembourg Finance Labelling Agency) is an independent, non-profit organization based in Luxembourg that plays a key role in advancing sustainable finance globally. Financially autonomous and trusted across the industry, LuxFLAG provides labelling and verification services for financial products that integrate Impact, ESG, or Transition considerations, according to transparent and robust eligibility criteria.

Through its labels, LuxFLAG promotes credibility, transparency, and investor confidence, helping to channel capital towards investments that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient economy.

Established in 2006 by seven charter members, ABBL, ADA, ALFI, the European Investment Bank, Luxembourg for Finance, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, and the Government of Luxembourg, LuxFLAG has grown into a key partner to asset managers, institutional investors, and financial service providers committed to responsible investment. In 2023, ACA joined LuxFLAG as eighth charter member, further strengthening its governance and industry reach.

2006

LuxFLAG was created by seven private and public partners to support sustainable finance and launched the world’s only Microfinance Label.

2006

LuxFLAG's charter members.

2011

Launch of LuxFLAG's Environment Label.

2014

Launch of the LuxFLAG ESG Label, the first European ESG label intended for funds incorporating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.

2016

10 years anniversary of LuxFLAG and launch of the LuxFLAG Climate Finance Label.

2017

Launch of the LuxFLAG Green Bond Label.

2021

15 years anniversary of LuxFLAG and launch of the LuxFLAG ESG Insurance Product Label.

2022

Launch of the LuxFLAG ESG Discretionary Mandate Label.

2025

Launch of the LuxFLAG Social Impact Label, designed to recognize investment products that strategically contribute to positive, measured and managed social outcomes.

2025

Through collaborative effort between Accelerating Impact and LuxFLAG, the Social Investment Framework was launched early 2025.

2025

To remain fully aligned with international practices and stakeholder expectations, LuxFLAG updated its ESG Label Eligibility Criteria and Exclusion & Engagement Policy in Sept 2025.
